Jolene Langford, Owner and CEO of Athenium Technology Group, was recognized by Cloud Girls, in collaboration with the Alliance of Channel Women, as a Trailblazer in the sixth annual Cloud Girls Rising “Women to Watch” awards announced in May of 2021. The Cloud Girl Rising award was created to honor women in the telecom and IT channel who have shown leadership and innovation in the emerging cloud space as well as to inspire more women to step forward and follow their example.
Langford was honored as a Trailblazer, a female technology industry veteran who is paving the way for her organization, customers and industry in advancing cloud and next-generation technology solutions. Cloud Girls is pleased to share more about Jolene’s efforts in advocating for women in cloud technology in this edited excerpt from her award application, as filled out by one of her colleagues that nominated Jolene for the award.
What is one cloud-related success that qualifies Jolene to win this award?
Jolene wakes up EVERY DAY and helps end-user businesses understand and move to the cloud. One example from this last year – she helped a 1,000 seat customer move to the cloud for various services that were previously hardware based. Saving IT resources and enhancing efficiencies, increasing diversity, and saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process.
How has Jolene created a corporate vision for cloud services in your organization?
Jolene’s team came from the Cisco, prem-based implementations. Jolene ensures everyone understood the vision of focusing on Cloud services, identified relevant certification & trainings and required everyone to take them. She is constantly evangelizing that Cloud services are the FIRST solution they are focused on as a company.
What work has Jolene done around developing future women cloud leaders in your organization and in the industry?
Jolene was recently selected to speak to women in the channel, in Australia, by Telarus due to her success, dedication, and focus on Cloud Services! Telarus is growing in the Australia marketplace and wants to ensure that women in the channel are a BIG part of the success in Australia.
